Fort Pearson?

I picked this photograph up recently, in my opinion it looks like Fort Pearson. The group of soldiers appear to be bandsmen, the back lace is apparent on some of the uniforms.

Has anyone seen this image before, or can assist me further?

Hi John
I think you’re right on both counts. The chap 2nd left looks to be holding a sax. There seem to be quite a large number for 1 bns band so I wonder if this is the combined band of the 2/3rd Buffs and 99th. All appear to have light facings (buff or yellow?) and some (not all) appear to have the Scots pattern glengarry dicing on the bottom edge.

I have to agree about the saxophone, and the soldier next to him appears to have an upended tuba. I wonder if those are music sheets that couple of them are holding? I will have to do some research on band numbers now.

John I think about 20 in the band for each battalion

Thanks for that, I just have checked there were twenty in the band, and sixteen in the corps of drums.
