| Hello everyone,
I recently purchased a SA campaign medal with 1878-1879 clasp awarded to Private J. McCrudden of the 1/13th Foot. I was wondering if anyone on the forum has access to a rare publication entitled "The 1/13th Regiment in South Africa 1874-1879" by a J.C. Kenworthy. The text is supposed to contain some biographical information on the men of the battalion. Any info about McCrudden found in the text would be much appreciated.
Regards, Nathan |

| Can't see the Ebay one, but maybe AbeBooks is cheaper at £670?
I am thinking of visiting TNA at Kew on Saturday, (strike dependent) they have a copy there. Will take some photos if I can. |

| I was wondering if the 'r' in his surname was a typo, if so, then his name would be McCudden, and could he possibly be related to the famous WW1 fighter pilot (flying ace), Major James McCudden V.C., who had 57 aerial victories, 52 of them whilst flying the Royal Aircraft Factory SE5a, one of the best British aircraft of WW1. |
