The event was jointly organised by Kris Wheatley and Cllr. Peter McGowan.

These are some video’s I took when I attended the Rededication service. I was also lucky enough to meet Kris Wheatley who kindly signed her books. I have lot of photos, which I will post. I would have posted this earlier but my external hard drive crashed, but a good friend of mine managed to retrieve the data.

NOTTINGHAM, UNITED KINGDOM - JULY 13: Soldiers from the 1879 period re-enactment groups honour Pte James Marshall 130 years after he fought at Rorke's Drift during the Zulu War in 1879 with a gun salute on July 13, 2008, Nottingham, England. James Marshall is the third Rorke's Drift hero to be found buried at Ruddington. Marshall was a soldier with B Company 24th (2nd Warwickshire) Regiment of Foot, who fought alongside Caleb Wood and Robert Young, the other two veterans buried in Ruddington. In the famous battle of Rorke's Drift against the Zulu nation 11 Victoria Crosses were awarded to soldiers.

I am third from far end of row, it was a joint Soldielrs of the Crown / 1879 group bash.
The Village of Ruddington is three miles from my house, not forgetting Robert Tongue and Caleb Wood who lie only yards away.

And as Neil pointed out, let’s not forget the other two defenders also laid to rest in the same cemetery. Photo's taken the same day.
