| In all the times I've watched Zulu - far too many to mention - I've never seen any instance where it shows Adendorff actually taking part in the fighting. |

| Tom. I have never noticed that before. But your right. Infact you only see him when he talking to Bromhead at various points in the film. |

| A question I put to Rob Caskie whilst he was our guide on the site at Rorkes Drift recently was whether he felt that Adendorff fought at the battle - he was listed as a combatant in Chard's recollection of the battle - but was later omitted. Rob felt that it was more than likely that he would not have stayed considering where he had just 'escaped' from. Perhaps Cy Endfield kept his presence during the battle low key because of the doubt! |

| See your point ref: Enfield. But why would Chard have included him in the muster roll. Surly he must have seen him after the battle, and during the muster roll. |

| A thought has just struck me:
Given that the actor that played Adendorff - Gert Van den Bergh - was actually South African, and given the political climate at the time that 'Zulu' was made, I was wondering if the South African government had placed any restrictions on him actually appearing on screen in any interactive role with the Zulu extras? |

| Not if he was shown shooting them surely ? Wouldn't have thought the government would have minded that. |

| hi all . We have covered this before , Adendorff was in the storehouse shooting from a window from some reports , I think he stayed as Chard must have seen him the next day , and if he did hop it he would have been seen . I am happy to think he stayed there is no evidence that he didnt . cheers 90th. |

They might have been more worried about what the Zulu extras would've done to him! |
