I think Coll from the RDVC website started an interesting topic, regarding Waxwork Characters from the AZW 1879. which I was watching with interest.

Well if you ever check out this site Coll.

Have you ever been to the National Army Museum London.
There they have a life size model of a Zulu Warrior which is very realistic and it could even be made of wax. I agree it would be an awesome sight, Durnford’s last stand.
Just sorry your topic ended up with the unnecessary replies at the end. It might be worth while contacting the museum to find out its origin. I have attached a photo.

There was also a life size display of a redcoat and a Zulu warrior at The Royal Armouries in Leeds , it is a few years since my last visit but i believe it is still there.

The death of Napoleon III in the January of this year was associated with one of the most impressive tableaux in the long history of Madame Tussaud's. The Emperor was represented as lying in state, and I find myself still wondering as to the identity of a tall, stately lady, dressed in black and wearing a thick veil, who came to the Exhibition on several occasions, bringing a bunch of violets which she placed on the steps of the catafalque, after having obtained a vase containing water in which to put the flowers.

The son of the Emperor Louis Napoleon, the Prince Imperial, who was killed in the Zulu War, was made the subject of an equestrian memorial at Madame Tussaud's some years later. The tableau closely con-formed with authentic details of the Prince's attempt to mount his horse and escape from the Zulu hordes, who pierced him with many assegais.

sas1. He’s on the lower floor. And just around the corner is a full scale 2nd/24th Soldier. Just ask a member of staff, they will direct you to the right place.
