Very nice pair of medals, look as though they have been sitting in the back of a drawer for the last 100 years, SAGS with 1878 clasp. |

| Hi Tasker . . Fairly ordinary condition for sure ! . Did you notice the Medal to Morris 1 / 24th 1879 clasp ? , estimated price is 200 - 300 GBP'S , well below what it's worth , for mine about worth 560 - 590 GBP'S . Wonder , if because , they the 1 / 24th medals always seem to cost more , what it will go for ????. . I think Sergio was looking for an 80th Regt medal but I think he was after the 1879 Clasp ??. Cheers 90th. |

| Some auctioneers place low estimates in order to generate bidding and interest as you know, 90th. I am sure it will go for 7-800 quid before commission.

| thanks 90th - I was looking for the 1879 participants ! I agree this is one of the saddest looking set of medals I have seen for a long time - but agree with Tasker on final price - the auctioneers are just trying to suck you in - and hope that you get carried away and keep bidding - as I tell Mrs D I would never do that
The quest goes on!! |

You and 90th must have no soul! This pair of medals has never been cleaned and have 130 odd years of tarnish. They have the original ribbons and wearing pins still attached! The detail on Victoria's crown is sharp and all there, as one would expect on medals that have never been polished. This pair of medals is exactly how I dream of finding them! |

| I hear you Tasker - i still think the medals look sad - original but sad - I know what my RSM would have pointed out to me if I had turned out on parade wearing them - none of which I could put on here!! I just think it is sad that they have not been cherished and kept in a safe place - when you think what the soldier went through to earn them it is a shame to think of them stuck in box in the garage - ! I shall search for my soul at the same time as I am looking to prove to Julian that I have more than a modicum of intelligence  Now can you and 90th track down that 80th 1879 clasp medal for me!! |

| Hi Tasker . I know where your coming from , but they, as Sergio said , look very sad , we dont want them gleaming , I suppose a litte tarnish is ok , unless of course your are lucky enough to procure one in Mint Condition ! . I do like the original ribbon idea , it gives it personality !. As expected the 24th Medal went way above what they are worth in my opinion , but this happens all the time with 1 / 24th Foot medals , which are mostly those who were secured by draft after Isandlwana . I like sergio will attempt to locate my soul   . All the best Tasker . Sergio . I will keep looking fot that elusive ' 80th Regt Medal with 1879 Clasp ' . When I find one I'll let you know . Cheers 90th. PS. Dont forget to keep an eye out for the ' Herbert ' 17th Lancrs Medals for me Sergio . |
