| Hi,
Sadly not, this one is from the same collection as my previous books above. According to the bookshop owner I bought them off, all the better books were sold by the family several years ago and these are the less important ones. He was pleased to get it as it seems the foldouts are often pulled out, he does have a lot of ILN copies but they look like a more modern reprint in blue. He is on the lookout for the earlier months, but as you can imagine the 1879 volumes are quite popular for the Zulu and Afghan campaigns. It does contain a fair bit on the Prince, some very nice illustrations, the spine is nicely detailed too. |

| Nice get Bill8183 I picked up copies of The Graphic Newspaper from all of 1879 , bound into two brown hard covered volumes , and they are bloody heavy !!, those newspapers are full of prints etc , well worth having , I bought the Jan to June edition on ebay , the seller contacted me and said he had July to Dec if I was interested , got it for the same price as the other , think I paid only 250 GBP's all up , which included postage , which wasn't cheap due to their weight , I found it whilst looking for something else , I was lucky no-one else seemed to find it . Also recently picked up quite a few copies of ' The Penny Illustrated News ' from Aug 78 to Aug 79 , there are several prints in those papers that you don't see very often . It was produced weekly . 90th . |

| Latest acquisition of "Records of 24th Regiment" 1892 edition. This one from Simi Valley in California. No special ownership but a fraction of the proper price. A quick tip for restoring the leather spine (which can get very dry and faded on these). Kiwi Shine and Protect shoe polish produces a quite remarkable new surface which then responds very well to a little wax polish. Don't do it to anything really valuable though. | I have just acquired a book titled: ' Cameos 0f Natal and Zululand Through the eyes of James LLoyd Photographist (sic) circa 1860 --1880.'
Inside was a note stating that only 7 copies were printed. The contents contain some 230 photographs that include: Delivery of the Ultimatum, Naval Brigade, Numerous showing Durban, Zulu Regiments in battle uniform, Prince Zibhebhu, Prince Imperial's Funeral, Troops crossing the Tugela, Rorke's Drift, Isandlwana showing wagons on the neck, military parade and a good one of the Delivery of the Ultimatum.
Has perchance anyone else perhaps got a copy or heard of the book?

| Hello Peter,
Personally, I have never heard of the book, but I am familiar with some of the photographs that you have mentioned, as I have a number of Lloyd’s original photographs in my collection.

| Hi Peter I bid on this book on auction a number of years ago so yes I am familiar with it. I cant remember the figure it reached but it was pretty eye watering. |

| Hello Frank,
The book that I have, has a light brown hard cover with brass bindings. I purchased it from our local Durban SPCA book shop, and from memory paid the equivalent of six pounds in Rand terms. This particular outlet seems to specialize in military history with much on Churchill, Napoleon, and the Anglo-Zulu war. Guess I was extremely lucky.

| Pete I was bidding in Dollars, my final bid was 200. After that I backed away. So yes you are extremely lucky, 120 Rand? Hell well done, great purchase. Could you PM me the name of the shop, or a website Regards |

| Frank,
I was there a couple of days ago and there was nothing. The voluntary staff who serve there and not on a regular basis, would not have a clue. But I visit regularly and you may rest assured that if I find one it will be for you . Please send me your current e-mail address.
Kind regards,
Peter
