| Did you know that the officer in charge of the working parties who recovered the remains from the Battlefields (four sets were recovered for one to be selected) was Major (later Lt Col) John Bradstock MC later 24 - or as Mr Cooper would like South Wales Borderers. The MC was awarded for his actions at Tsingtao, China while serving with 2nd Battalion South Wales Borderers.
Also did you know that the original Cenotaph in Whitehall was a temporary wooden/plaster structure that was unveiled on 19th July 1919. This was replaced by a similar design in Portland stone in time for the burial of Britain's unknown warrior on 11th November 1920.
