Hi All, I hope everyone is well. I have been a.w.o.l. making a few new recruits. The first piece is inspired by Alphonse De Neuville's "The Wounded Ally" depicting a 17th Lancer trooper attending to his horse, the scale of this one is 54mm and is sat in the queue awaiting some colour. I am also currently making another scene in 54mm scale of "The Last Sleep of the Brave" again inspired by Alphonse De Neuville. The second is a 200mm (1/9 scale) full figure of Colour Sgt Bourne/Nigel Green from the movie Zulu. The third is an extension of my bust with a set of legs made so making a full 200mm of a private post battle Rorke's Drift. The fourth and fifth figures are 1/24 scale - 75mm, Royal Artillery and Naval Brigade figures. The Naval Brigade will be holding a rifle. cheers Richie [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Very good models - however you depict a sergeant of the 24th wearing two medals (whilst that happened in the film Zulu with actor Nigel Green) there was nobody at Rorke's Drift in the 24th with medals (except Dalton of the Commissariat already had his LS&GC). Even Colour Sergeant Bourne only had 6 years service and the 2nd Battalion had previously not seen active service where a campaign medal had been awarded. A number of defenders did receive their Army Long Service & Good Conduct Medal in addition to their South Africa campaign medal later.

Hi 24th, Thank you, you will see finished pieces in full colour, I just can't tell you when Hi 90th, Thanks mate, just seem to be in a purple patch for building lately. I would like to join in more but life keeps getting in the way. Hi Frank, Thank you mate, I can't take credit for the last two I only built them and made slight conversion from the originals. Hi Kenny, Thanks for looking in, I depict Nigel Green with his medals from the movie as Colour Sgt. Bourne and not a 24th Colour Sgt. hope this clears up any confusion. cheers Richie
