 Darkest Africa Empty
PostSubject: Darkest Africa    Darkest Africa EmptySun Oct 22, 2017 8:33 pm

Most people as we know cite the film ZULU as there first
proper introduction to Africa.. and i often thought to my-
self that i had been aware of the ' Dark Continent ' much,
much earlier!, always an avid reader i was literally that
small boy with the torch under the bedclothes.. sharing a
room with two elder intolerant brother's i really did'nt have
much choice in the matter.. the first memory's that stuck
had to be Edgar Rice Burroughs.. Tarzan which i used to
watch at the local flea pit. then it was Rider-Haggard with
the magnificent King Solomon's Mine's. also the Mau Mau
uprising in Kenya was blood curdling stuff, but my absolute
favourite was the book below, i loved that story so much..
so as you can gather i have been an 'African' for most of my
life.

'Biggles goes to Africa'
Inspired me to do three things, learn to fly, go to Africa and buy a white silk scarf that flowed backwards. Two out of three isn't so bad!
