| Hi 90th, I have been painting figures for 38 years and you just develop a technique which gives you the best effect for the least time. I use a lot of ink washes, others use shading and dry brushing techniques I have stopped painting & gaming now and gone on to collecting and diorama making with William Britains 54mm figures (I hope to post some photos soon). The Britains are ready painted and I try to resist the urge to 'touch up' (by the way that is nothing sexual, I like my figures but not that much..... ) I used to do some commission work but I found the pressure (customer expectations & deadlines) was spoiling my love of the hobby. Cheers Sime |

| Hi Sime That's a long time to be detailing those size figures . I only collect Britain's and other 54 mm figures , I have an Isandlwana diorama I concocted , Wagons , Tents etc , probably 200 figures or so , complete with dirt from Isandlwana ! . 90th |

| Hi,
I think that is what about did my eyes in and was one of my reasons for upscaling (not helped by the fact I refuse to wear glasses and prefer to squint because it makes me look 'mean' in a Clint Eastwood sort a way).
I have no where near that many 54's, I probably have about 60 figures and have them smaller display cases - Younghusband, Pope & GA, Durnford etc, Shepstone, rocket battery & 7pdr......
The latest one I am working on is a display case with some Zulus in it - preliminary entitled "we are the boys from Isandlwana" but that could change.
I get one of two figures a month depending on funds and what figures are on e-bay.
If you get chance at anytime, please pop some photos on the forum - I would like to see your display.
Cheers
Sime
