Lord Chelmsford invaded Zululand without the knowledge of the British Government in the hope that he could Capture Cetshwayo, the Zulu King, before London discovered that hostilities had begun.

 Information on Major Richard Granville Nicholson.

Major Richard Granville Nicholson escorted Princess Eugenie to see her son's grave at the site where he was killed in the Zulu war on the 1st June 1879.

The reason is the son of a friend is doing a project on Uncharted Africa and he has selected Ralph Bousfield. who co-produced and presented a sixteen part series on Uncharted Africa. Major Richard Granville Nicholson is the great grandfather,of Ralph Bousfield

I can assure you any help would be gratefully appreciated.
