Does anyone have a list of all the officers of 1/1st NNC? I'm interested in the ones who weren't at Isandhlwana. Julian

Graves Me too re Smythe. But...thanks very much Graves, this was partly what I was wanting...This is more of a compilation taken from Terry Sole's book and it's not authoratative. I was seeking more a provenance for the non-Isandhlwana lieutenants, you know the sort of thing, newspaper announcements or genral orders of when they were appointed and so on. But thanks.

Herbie and Graves Thank you both - very useful. You should perhaps look at each other's lists.

Graves Yes, I think there is general agreement that Sole made an error in his remark against Smythe's name.

| I noticed there was a typo in my list and Cpl Wood had dropped out so I've corrected that.
By the way some of my info came from an interesting thesis I found on the internet. I'll post a link to it separately as it covers the whole NNC.
I don't have Terry Sole's book but will look out for it.

Whats really getting to me Julian is that he does not appear on any records. And yet we have his statement, that on its own of course could mean its a fraud. Except. That one casual mention, almost in passing, and the fact he has a medal. I really do start to think it would be easier to complete Rubbicks Cube blindfolded with no arms than solve iSandlwana mysteries.

Actually Frank...I think I'm about to present you with another mystery...I have to go out shortly for a couple of hours. I'll probably e-mail you when I get back or sooner if I can.
