I was reading an old Sapper Magazine (Royal Engineers) and came across an article, which suggested that Major Chard like nothing better than a chocolate and cheese sandwich. Can anyone else make reference to this?

I'm not sure if this is army humour or not.

G.

Hi G.

I have never heard of this, but I won't dismiss it either. I will have a wander around the web. Not a good combination for a sandwich.

hi all.
All I can say is the lack of food and the rubbish poor old Chard had to contend with during his army
service It"s no wonder he thought the Cheese and Chocolate s"wich was delightful :lol!: . Now , me .
I'd rather his army food :lol!: ( only because I"ve never lived in 1879 :lol!: )
cheers 90th.
