Fantastic ! after all this time .

I was watching a programme over the holidays where they were trying to identify the remains of the fallen from WW1 who are still being found .

I think it was called "Finding the Fallen" - very interesting but very sad too .

Hi Gary. It was more of confusion than jumping the gun.
To keep it short. John Young was asked to help identify the tunic button found among the remains. He sent a Photo of a person by the name of Keane, but the intention was to show the cap-badge not the person. It was then assumed that Keane’s remains were found.

This is the original link that caused the confusion; the remains are still under examination, and have not been identified yet.

Hi all , thanks for clearing it up (again! ) - i see what i have done , i followed the link which Joe posted at the start of this thread and the date at the top of the Daily Mail is the current date , not the date of the original article so i thought the info was updated and confirmed .
