If 90th is the winner. I will let him decide if he wants to keep them himself. Or if he wants me to sent copies to those that would like them. So its now Santa 90th. Sad Idea

Only 12 days to go. Just out of interest the discs contain the following.

These are just some of the hundreds of articles and engravings:

· The Zulu War in South Africa
· Durbar Mounted Volunteers
· Natal Police, Under Major Dartnell, on their way to the front
· Colonel Pearson's camp on the lower Tugela
· Embarkation of the 91st Highlanders at Southampton
· Departure of the 17th Lancers from Victoria Dock, Blackwall
· Colonel Glyn's force crossing the Buffalo River Valley, near Rork's Drift
· British troops attacked and defeated by 20,000 Zulus at Isandhlwana
· The Lageer method of defence
· The Helliograph at work, Flashing messages to a Beleaguered Force
· The 91st Regiment leaving camp at Durban for the front
· Troops crossing the Tugela under the inspection of Lord Chelmsford
· Lord Chelmsford following the body of the Prince Imperial at Itelezi Camp
· General Dewdigate interrogating a zulu spy at his head-quarters, Landman's drift
· Death of Lieutenant Frith in skirmish at Erzungayan Hill
· Ambassadors from King Cetewayo to sue for peace
· The March to Ulandi - Occupation of a military kraal by British Troops
· The Battle of Ulandi : inside the square
· Ulandi in flames - Burning of Cetewayo's House
· Shelling Kraals across the Umvolosi River
· The Zulu War ended when King Cetawayo was defeated by British troops at Ulundi.

The Illustrated London News is probably the most interesting of the "magazine" newspapers published. A weekly publication, it contains a superb collection of news and informative articles, and lots of excellent illustrations ranging from those depicting overseas events in all parts of the world, and those in England. Churches, people, wonderful early views of towns and villages, etc. It provides an excellent source of reference material for historians and genealogists.
