Hi all

Subject: A book by Frank Emery, titled, The Red Soldier the zulu war 1879.

Does anyone have a copy of this book, and if so, could you please let me know if it is a good book, and if it contains letters
written by the troops to their relatives back home?

I have heard of this book before, but can't remember if this is the one with the soldiers letters or not, any help on this would
be much appreciated.

Thanking you in advance.

Regards

Martin.

The Red Soldier is one of the essential books in the "Nu-AZW" scholarship that arose in the late 1970's and early 1980's. It was in resposne to both the centenary in 1979 and to the success of Mr Morris TWOTS and teh fild Zulu itself. It can still be obtained at a not too excessive a price. Good hunting.

Hi Eric,

Many thanks for the information.

I saw a copy at Amazon, but it was about £30, is this about an average price for this book?

Regards

Martin.
