Chelmsford's departure from Pietermaritzburg?

Does anyone know what date Chelmsford departed Pietermaritzburg to start the campaign? What date did they hit Greytown and Helpmekaar?

Also, when and where was the last time he saw his Colonels (Wood, Durnford, Pearson) before the invasion started?

Would appreciate any info on this. Thanks, guys!

Hi Rawlee .
All I can tell you is that Chelmsford's Headquarters were at P ' Burg on the 9th August 78 . He was then at Helpmakaar
in early January 1879 , and he last saw Wood on the 11th January where they met about 12 miles from R. Drift . Cant
offer any info on your other questions , hope this helps .

Thanks for taking the time to respond. I really appreciate it. Do you know if Wood (and the other Colonels) accompanied Chelmsford out of PMB or had they split up prior? Any idea whom might be sitting on these type of details?
