| I think I could with reasonable confidence bet money on it being Spearmans Hill looking over to Spionkop.

It is Memorials and graves at General Sir Redvers Buller's observation post on Mount Alice.
The Flat grave is of Robert C. Buchanan Riddell, Lt. Col.: 3rd. King's Royal Rifles, Jan. 24. 1900. |

| Hallo
The mountain is definitely Spioenkop. I lived near Ladysmith before and have seen it numerous times from all sides. I even flew over the moutain in a small aircraft once. It was rather interesting to see the extent of the trenches from up there. One can't get such a good overview when earthbound.
The direction of the view on the photograph would be more or less from Mount Alice, although I haven't been on this exact spot yet. |
