| Hello Gents,
I'm looking for a South Africa medal relating to Isandhlwana, please.
1/24th preferably, but I'll consider other units as well.
Cheers,

| Many thanks, 90th.
I've discussed that item with another member, and decided that it isn't suitable.
I'd consider also, any soldier/officer who was with Lord Chelmsford's column, but I'd require proof of that. It appears very difficult to substantiate a roll of men who left the camp with Chelmsford, only to return to Isandhlwana too late. Would anyone care to comment on those who marched with Lord Chelmsford?
Cheers,

| Hi Bill welcome to the forum.
"Would anyone care to comment on those who marched with Lord Chelmsford?"
Well those that march with Chelmsford were in the right place at the right time. I do believe that most of the soldiers were very frustrated with the fact that Chelmsford dragged his heels when in came to returning to the camp. Harford was Infact on his way to assist but was stopped from doing so. It must have been one hell of a night for those would were made to lay among their dead comrades, and they must have felt very helpless hearing the gunfire coming from Rorkes Drift. |
