| I'm off tho France for a few days in July. Leaving from Dover. Dartnell's grave is fairly close to Dover and I would really like to visit his Grave. The problem is I won't have a lot of time due to sea crossing times. Can someone give me the precise location of the grave. I will be in Folkestone area on the 27th July. Admin. I know you have been to the Grave so maybe you could help. But any help would be welcome. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] |

| Hi, as you go through any gate Datnell is in the far right hand corner the back of the graveyard, near the pathway about 5 rows from the edge of the graveyard, again as you go through the gate Harry Boldero RN is in the right hand corner on the rightside pathway a grave with Anchor and chain, as you go through the main gate go straight across almost central on the right is Baker Creed Russell about 10 rows in.,there is another very near to Russell about two rows nearer i think it is Hamilton 2/3rd,. | 24th/Admin/Rai, Brilliant! Many thanks for this info. I am doing exactly the same at the end of August, driving from Aberdeen in Scotland to watch the Belgian GP and plan to visit Folkestone on the way back. Would have taken me ages to find these, thanks very much for the detailed map and description. Plan on visiting a few more on way down and back (Smith-Dorrien, Leet, Marter, Gardner) so will post any updates. Thanks again everyone who contributed to this! JCAWG. |
