Crealock evidently like to paint, as anyone got images of his work. Or a link to any of his work. But all accounts he painted very well. Would be interested to see any of his work Before the Zulu War, During, and after.

Old.H Just missed you. Here's some of his work.

Crealock was commissioned into the Army in 1848. He saw active service in a number of fronts including the siege of Sevastopol, the operations at Canton in 1857-8 and the Indian campaigns of 1858 and 1859. Crealock was attached to the Army headquarters in Peking in 1860 and was present at actions in the ensuing war. He was promoted to colonel in 1864, and was made major general in 1870. He commanded the 1st Division of the Army in the Anglo-Zulu War of 1879 . After retiring, Crealock republished a series of anti-Russian articles as The Eastern Question in 1885. He was an accomplished draughtsman, and his sketches of scenes in the Indian mutiny, the China campaign and the Anglo-Zulu War are valuable records of those events.

That is Henry Hope Crealock rather than John North Crealock!

That said both brothers painted material during the Zulu War.

John North Crealock's material is in the Sherwood Foresters Collection, Nottingham, and Henry Hope Crealock's material is in the Cameronions Museum, Hamilton Scotland.

John North Crealock's Zulu War work forms a volume by Ron Brown entitled 'The Road to Ulundi'.

coloured .

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

You may find it cheaper with a more detailed search , mine was half the price of the one's I've shown here .
