PostSubject: Hospital tents and surgeons.   Hospital tents and surgeons. EmptyThu Sep 24, 2009 10:36 pm

Hi everyone. Just A thought.

Did they have hospital tents during the Zulu War? Or were the wounded troops treated out in the open on the battlefield. I know the troops had the Bell tents, but did they have specially adapted tents that would able to accommodate a large number of troops if needed. I can’t see them carting off the wounded to the nearest hospital. And thinking about it they must have had surgeons attached to the column in order to treat the wounded almost immediately. Which would have been a bit risky especially if the surgeons were killed.
