Hi everybody
just to say that whilst on line last week i saw Fripp's
Iconic image which we all know so well. it was printed
and stretched on a canvas, with various sizes for
various prices. i zoomed and zoomed and found that the
definition was truly amazing. i ordered the 36 inch by 24
inch for £36.00 i received it yesterday.

Well im so pleased i immediately hung it on my bedroom wall
and contacted my local framing person who informed me
that i could have it in a deep sided frame in any wood i
wanted. iv'e chosen a dark rosewood. iv'e been to the NAM
many times over the years and always found the painting
very moving. i now have my own for about fifty quid...

Hi xHosa2000.
I have a print of Fripp's painting which I had framed when I bought it about 6 or 7 yrs ago , and like you , mine's hanging in the bedroom , as the Missus wont let it hang anywhere else in the house ! , maybe she likes it as much as I do ! , Joker  Joker .
It is a very emotive piece of work . What you may notice is you'll always find something you didnt notice the previous time you looked at it , well I did anyway .

Hi xhosa2000.
I hope your wife doesnt notice , mine doesnt look in the display case , so I do add things every know and again.
I purchased a Powder Horn ( zulu ) which sat in the display case for 12 mths or possibly more , before I heard her say
'' What's that thing , how much did it cost ! '' . I told her it'd had been there for ages and it wasnt that much , with that she shrugged her shoulders and walked off ! Joker  Joker  Joker . So I'm lucky that way , she has no interest , therefore has no idea what's been spent ! . Very Happy  Very Happy .
Cheers 90th.

Hi Gary.

Where have you hidden your MH and Bayonet? let me have a guess, er, under the floorboards??? Very Happy

Mine is on the wall in what Mrs Shifter calls my 'Junk Room', the cheek of the woman, there is also a couple of Fender Stratocasters in there (just like Buddy Holly's), and many Cricket items, as well as lots of Railway, Army and Titanic items, and she has the nerve to call it all "JUNK", Shocked Shocked Shocked

Hi Martin .
No MH , I've spoken to Neil about it over the last year or so but I think it would be to hard to get into the country , to many licences and permits , way to much red tape for me ! . The Bayonet is standing up in a corner along with a couple of Knobkerries , axe and throwing spear , in between the desk and display case ! . So they are out of sight , sort of ! . Women do that , it's all '' JUNK '' to them , not like their myriad of Lipsticks, compacts etc etc , now , that's what I call junk as would most of the red blooded guys on here ! , agreed ? .
Cheers 90th.

Hi me old Wombat.

Yes I agree.

She has her pile of 'womens stuff', teddy bears, make up, craftwork stuff, cabinets full of meaningless trinkets of all description, etc, etc, etc, but if I refer to it all as being "JUNK", I get the glare over the glasses that could turn anything into stone, you know what I mean mate, "The Medusa Look", Shocked  all she needs is a few snakes in her hair and she could appear in the old film "Clash of the Titans", LOL Very Happy

If looks could kill, then I would have been pushing up Daisies years ago, LOL.

Jeez, what us blokes put up with, ha ha.

Hi Martin.
Have you ever seen Jason Askew's Zulu War Art ? . I find it excellent as well , I have several of them , if you have any spare hanging space in your '' Study '' they will fill the gaps most admirably !.
Cheers 90th.

ps . Here is one of my favourites , wonder what Ritchie would think of making this one ? .

Ah! Right, Shocked  thank's for that Dave, that answers why I was getting "The Medusa Look" when she was on her lap top this evening, and I also thought I heard a little 'hisssssing' LOL.

I might get the old 'silent meals' treatment for a few days now, so I can see me buying a new Teddy Bear soon, ha ha. Rolling Eyes

Hi Gary.

Yes mate, I have seen a few of Jason's paintings whilst searching for things online. They do seem very good, but I prefer the "old masters" sort of paintings personally. Don't get me wrong buddy, I do think that Jason is very good indeed, but somehow the "old masters" stuff just does it for me.

I think it would take Richie quite some time to model all those figures, but no doubt with Richie's 'gift', he would make an excellent job of it, but he might have to buy himself a larger cabinet, but then again, I suppose I could help the man out and make some room in mine in my "Study", ha ha.
