try getting across one of these with the artillery.

Springbok. Was that the donga, used during the filming of Zulu Dawn. Certainly looks like the one where the British were running and the Sgt is shouting " Take the high ground"

I do know that Zulu Dawn was made in the area so its highly possible, there are a number of Donga's crossing the plain. One is around twice the depth as this one.

Forgive me for being fussy, but the correct spelling is 'donga', which is in essence a dry water course that is usually referred to in British accounts as a 'nullah' (which sounds as if it is an Indian name).
