How many other battles during the Zulu War, did officers leave, leaving their men to get on with it. I have

Isandlwana.

Intombi Drift.

Higginson I have down as twice, Isandlwana and during his escape when he took another solders horse and didnt return.

Can we count the Prince Imperial?

Hi Ray, not sure the Prince Imperial incident would count, he wasn't left as such, he would have left with the rest if he had been able to get on his horse.

I would consider Spalding. R.D. He could have sent someone else. Just a thought?

Hi Dave .
You cant mention Spalding as he'd left well before the battle was known to have taken place . Search Spalding in the searchbox I'm positve I've posted his account .
Ray63 .
Certainly cant count the P.Imp as he was killed because he didnt get away , he was in fact the person who was left behind !.
