| Hi Ray63 . I think about 13,500 - 14,500 USD will be near the mark , as he's stated as being in H Co this may / will push up the price , as all the records were lost , no one is certain with 100 % accuracy who was actually in each company when it comes to the enlisted man . Possibly , this may known in this case , or they may be working from records of 1 or 2 years earlier , which has been done previously . Also I didnt check the site but I'm guessing there will be a 16 % tax on the hammer price , plus VAT and another couple of Sundry expenses which will make it quite expensive ! . I'm always surprised what they go for in these auctions , as I think Tasker mentioned a week or so ago , people must forget about the taxes and other charges which certainly make them an expensive '' Get '' ! Towerboy . No , dont have enough ammo ! . Cheers 90th. |

| Registered for bidding, all excited for this one, email from the auctioneer this morning the medal has been withdrawn, Auctioneer apoligises for any inconvience this has caused.
90th buyers premium was 19.5% plus 3% for internet bidders (22.5%).

| i shant be having a go - I am full on Isandlwana casualties - would rather save up for the RD medal or an Intombe casualty if they come along. Just for the record I would have posted the medal even if I was going for it - I know the majority of the medal collectors on here would do the same. We all have different wants - and dont forget I am always looking for 17th DCO Lancers medals Cheers Sergio |

| Hi Towerboy . '' Gulp '' 22.5 % Buyers Premium OMG ! . Sorry but thats ridiculous ................Isnt it ?? . . I wonder why it was withdrawn , did you ask the Auction house why ??? . I wasnt going to be involved as I'm looking for a KIA at Hlobane and like Sergio I wouldnt mind an Intombe KIA but I've never seen one and not holding my breath for one either . Cheers 90th |

| 90th, the premium matches most in the UK, I sent an email to the auctioneer asking if it was sold privately, no response yet (time zone), Picked up a nice medal with 1879 clasp to the 58th , found out the other day he was a casaulty at Laings Nek 1881, bargains out there to be found |

| The Sullivan medal was up 4 sale a year or two back on a UK dealer's website. I was mildly interested in it then, as he was undoubtedly an H coy man at the battle and so we can place him. I was going to make a cheeky low bid - you never know - but not disappointed it has been withdrawn. Why was it withdrawn? Well, if the buyer's premium is 22.5%, it is not unlikely the seller's is the same. By the time the auctioneer has taken their cut, perhaps the seller thought a second time and decided to sell elsewhere. Let's see if it doesn't crop up again somewhere in the next few months. Like Lisbeck, still for sale at British-medals, Sullivan seems to have been one of the old sweats! |

| Nice try!
Bidding went on as planned. I bid $13,000.......Sold for $14,000....plus commission.....so it's about $16,800 all in.
C'est la vie.
Cheers,
Bill |

| Wow some price! I sold this one for £7500 just over a year ago, probably to this vendor (and it had been up with very little interest for a month or so). A very nice medal but... bidding madness me thinks Jager1 |

| But I thought it had been pulled from the auction - at least according to the posts above Lucky I wasnt planning to bid for it !! As MrsD (who is a reception teacher) would say - I am not angry , just Disappointed On a plus point, Jager is right - crazy price - but a good read through to my collection. Hopefully these higher prices will encourage collectors to let go their more interesting medals!! Cheers Sergio |
