A Isandhlwana, the size of each of the companies of the 1/24 th is unknown, as the papers of the battalion were eaten by the Zulu ...

But Ulundi is a victory, then, please, is there a brave soul on this forum who could tell me the exact strength of each of the companies of the 2/21 st in this battle ?

I only know that there were two companies with a total of  11 officers - 205 NCO's and braves soldiers and six horses ...

Obligatorily, some are out ranks and do not belong to these two companies, over which companies were there? A ? B? C? ect...

Thank you in advance

Hi Rascal .
As with all records no two are the same whether it's a victory or a loss , in my copy of  ' They Fell Like Stones ' by John Young , the strength of the 2 / 21st is 12 officers ( one of which was on attached duty from 3rd Royal Lancashire Militia ) and 203 Ranks . I doubt you'll find anywhere the exact number , precise record keeping in the field I doubt was a priority and possibly very difficult to enforce .
