| Does anyone have a photograph of Surgeon Thomas Martyn Sibbald, H.M.S. ‘Shah’?
Or any biographical notes that might link him to Canada?
Thanks in anticipation.

| Littlehand,
Bravo! That's a clincher!
I believe found a photograph of him when he was King's College, as soon as I've mastered the art of my new scanner I'll post it.
Thanks again.

Thanks for that and the link.
Given what is on the linked post I can say with confidence it is him in the photograph.

| 90th,
The only information that I could have added to “kwajimu’s” request for biological information that would link Sibbald to Canada is the same information that “littlehand” posted. As for a photograph of him, I am sorry to add that I do not have one.
Since he corresponded with a relative in Canada it is likely that he might have visited there on some occasion. He had two opportunities while serving in the Royal Navy. The first when he was appointed on the 26 June, 1880 as Surgeon on HMS Northampton (Flag Ship, North America and West Indies); and again on 12 September, 1888 was he was appointed as Staff Surgeon on the HMS Canada (Cruiser 3rd Class, North America and West Indies.)

| Spend sometime, looking for a photo. No luck I'm afraid.
Found his daughter's grave on Findagrave. But nothing on him!
