| Was it ever established, as fact that the Zulus were in this area possibly moving towards Isandlwana ect. Chelmsford in a letter to Frere states he does not believe they were there? |

| Its not a logical route from Ondini to Isandlwana. It would involve a massive detour heading South West first. If there was an impi there its more than likely it was heading towards the middle drift. Considering the lack of solid intelligence surrounding the whole invasion I cant see where the knowledge of an impi in the Nkandla area would originate

| Dave you are referring to Cornelius Vijn who was a guest ( prisoner ) of Ceteswayo during the War . Vijn was from memory was at Ulundi when the war started . 90th. |

| Yes John , he wrote a book about his times in Zululand . Vijn was a Dutch trader in Zululand . The book can be cheap on-line if you wish to search for it . 90th |
