Ive just purchased a book 'British Battles on Land and Sea' by James Grant. He died in 1887 but I cant find a date on which the book was written Published by Cassell and Company Limited. Could any of the web fundis out there help in trying to date the book?

First published as a part work (30 parts) c. 1875 by Cassell, Peter and Galpin. Later issued in hardbound several times. Cassell and Co. Ltd would indicate sometime in the later 1890's.

Thanks Steve so not the end of the world. I bought it from my Grandaughters school white elephant stall. Emery's Marching over Africa. Wilmot and this for R50.00 ( that 9year old drove a hard bargain ) thats around 3 GBP. So not a bad start to the weekend, now I need the Mighty Mighty Springboks to thrash the All Blacks tomorrow and life would be good.
