Lt. Melvill: Well done, Sir! Did you see that Noggs? Deceived him with the up and took him with the down. Norris-Newman: Well well, this one\'s a grandfather at least. If he\'d been a Zulu in his prime I\'d have given odds against your lancer, Mr.Melvill.

If he was at the bombardment of Alexandria it probably means he was Royal Navy or Marines, so Naval Brigade in Zululand and at Majuba?

I am not mistaken there is a C Moore noted on the British Grave site at Khambula ?

Hans Garrett Moore ( also Irish ) is of course the first VC awarded in SA ( Eastern Cape Frontier Wars )

Hi All

There are three M. Moore's listed on the Medal Roll.

One is Michael Moore, 1st 24th - 914. We can rule him out as the information we have on him does not match the article.

We are left with just two now -

Private 3313 M. Moore, 3rd 60th and Drummer 1407 M. Moore, 57th.

I will update you if I find anything out about the above two.
