Zulu Dawn:Col. Durnford: Sergeant, you're to ride back to Natal. When you see the Bishop tell him, that is, tell his daughter, that I was obliged to remain here with my infantry. Now go. God go with you. Sgt. Maj. Kambula: I leave God Jesus with you.

Fairly certain this would be Captain Ernest Manningham Buller standing second from left at this garden party photograph from Oct. 21, 1868.

If anyone would care take take a shot at identifying the fellow lying on the ground--who was a prominent figure in the Zulu War, please take a chance.   Hint: I believe that is a sketchbook in his hand.  Upon correct Id, I will post a photograph of the entire mount which has all participants identified.

Well, done, 90th, good spot of HHC!  Note the floppy hat in his lap--somewhere I think I read where he wore that in the Zulu War with a peacock feather in it!
