90th
Has now been along the coast and through Gingindlovu and Nyezane. Up through Stanger and Eschowe through the valley of the kings and into Ulundi.
The last couple of days hes done Hlobane and Khambula, now hes going to be heading down to Intombi and the Prince Imperials Grave towards iSandlwana.
Hopefully Im going to get a phone call tonight from the balcony of the iSandlwana lodge looking over the battlefield. And I have no doubts he will have a beer in hand.  agree

Cheers

Hi Barry
Hope all is well ? . This tour is well worth the money and excellent for the fact you go to all the battlefields and others places if time permits , which so far has included Mome Gorge ? , Scott - Douglas / Cotter Gravesite maybe another which escapes me at this time .
Cheers 90th

PS Climbing Hlobane and coming down was unbelievable as the day was sunny , the next two days it was clouded out !

PostSubject: Move to topic   90th Trip to the Battlefields Zulu War 1879 EmptySun Apr 06, 2014 6:16 pm

Hi John
Will do ! .
Springy
Sorry I haven't rang .
, but just don't get the time ! , huge day today . Started off at the Ngwebini valley , then onto the escarpment where the Zulu army came along and down , then off to the memorials , break for lunch , then walked to Shepstone's grave site then around the slope to Younghusband , up into the cave , then down to Durnfords Colonial Graves , then a across to the Zulu monument , walked , yes , more walking ! to the RA Memorial , then double time to the front line followed by another double time to Durnford's Donga , crossed it, then back to the road where the bus picked us up ! , thank the Lord ( not Chelmesford ! ) . Tomorrow , walking down to the river via the fugitives track , crossing the river and then onto M&C'S Grave , not sure after that ?
Cheers 90th

PS The sunsets for the two nights we've been here are nothing short of spectacular , the sunrise was in the same boat , I know you'll understand what I mean ! .
Cheers

Personal Defense Weapon.
"A " three-in-one" gun designed to combine the firepower of a machine gun, the medium-range capability of an assault rifle and the compact handling of a pistol. Manufactured by Heckler & Koch, the gun has a retractable butt and folding front grip so that it can be held as a rifle or a pistol.
The weapon can fire 950 rounds a minute and is capable of carrying a range of 4.6mm ammunition, including a new armour-piercing bullet that can cut through more than 20 layers of Kevlar body protection from a range of 200 yards."
