Nice to have Bill.. do you have the Jan to June in the same edition?.
June end's with the demise of the P.I. after his death there were
images of him everywhere.. i collect anything i can on the Prince
bookwise, the image you have chosen is very well known in fact,
great image on the front board of your copy. Salute xhosa

Hi,

Sadly not, this one is from the same collection as my previous books above. According to the bookshop owner I bought them off, all the better books were sold by the family several years ago and these are the less important ones.
He was pleased to get it as it seems the foldouts are often pulled out, he does have a lot of ILN copies but they look like a more modern reprint in blue. He is on the lookout for the earlier months, but as you can imagine the 1879 volumes are quite popular for the Zulu and Afghan campaigns.
It does contain a fair bit on the Prince, some very nice illustrations, the spine is nicely detailed too.

Nice get Bill8183
I picked up copies of The Graphic Newspaper from all of 1879 , bound into two brown hard covered volumes , and they are bloody heavy !!, those newspapers are full of prints etc , well worth having , I bought the Jan to June edition on ebay , the seller contacted me and said he had July to Dec if I was interested , got it for the same price as the other , think I paid only 250 GBP's all up , which included postage , which wasn't cheap due to their weight , I found it whilst looking for something else , I was lucky no-one else seemed to find it . Also recently picked up quite a few copies of ' The Penny Illustrated News ' from Aug 78 to Aug 79 , there are several prints in those papers that you don't see very often . It was produced weekly .
