It's noted that colonel Burnaby used a shotgun during the mahdist war, are there any Instances of any one using a shotgun during the zulu war?

I think I might've come across a statement mentioning Shotgun's during the war ? . The problem being as they are really only a close proximity type of weapon , if you had to resort to using one , there is an excellent chance you wouldnt have survived to place it's use on the public record ! scratch scratch

Hiya Gary, ' Fred ' was severely condemned for using the shotgun, as though
it was unsportmans like and ungentlemanly, as a direct result he did not use
it at Abu Klea, and was outside the broken square when he died..     xhosa

I do remember reading that several officers called it "bad form" using a shotgun at EL Teb, it wouldn't surprise me though if there was some eccentric who did us one during the zulu war.

I've also found a reference to a Royal Navy Leiutenant Piggott using a shotgun at Abu Klea.
