| I am researching my great grandmother Charlotte Molineaux aka Mulineaux. She was married to Charles Morris, son of John Morris. John was a son of Mary Russell Morris, sometimes referred to as Lady John Russell. Mary Russell Morris was of the House of Russell and a first cousin to the Duke of Bedford, Lord Russell. I am as confused as you are by now, but I am having trouble find a link between Charlotte Molineaux Morris, and her family line back in England. Charlotte and Charles Morris, a son of John Morris, married in the US in 1897. I am not positive but I believe Charlotte Molineaux (1879-1920) might be a daughter of Captain C.F. Molineaux. If this rings a bell or ties in to any Molineaux researchers, I would appreciate a contact. Thank you. |

| Hello CMolineaux,
I have just put the surname ' Molineaux' through the Forces war records data base and the name Molineaux appears several times. The earliest Molineaux is recorded in 1871. It may well be worth your while looking through their records. 'Forces War Records'.
Good Luck |

| There is a family tree on Ancestry which has Charlotte Molineaux (b. Prittstown Pennsylvania Dec 1879) married to Charles Morris on 25 November 1897 in Philadelphia. Her father is shown as William S Molineaux b. 1854 in Pennsylvania and her mother Mary b. 1860 in Pennsylvania. Sounds like the right one, but I cannot see any connection to UK or the Zulu War?

| Thank you very much for the help. This board is fantastic and it's good to know people help each other out. I will let you know if this turns up any connection. John Morris and Ann Boulton Morris and children were the only ones in their families who immigrated over here to the States. The rest remained in England, including John's father John Morris and Lady John Morris (Mary Ann Russell). Now back to the Zulu Wars, my main interest in coming here--to learn. The Ancestry link is incorrect. I am sure because I was the one who connected it a couple of years ago. The father and mother Ridenour was taken from a funeral notice which included a Mrs Charles Morris who was not married to my GGrandfather Charles Morris. It's a dead end that I have not yet removed. Thanks for your comment and attention, though. |

| Do you know any more about Captain C F Molyneaux? There is a Major W C F Molyneux who was ADC to Lord Chelmsford in Zululand and later wrote a book Campaigning in South Africa and Egypt.

Steve Steve, I didn't mean to muddy up the forum's focus on the Zulu Wars or the UK, but in reading the "Washing of the Spears" I discovered him and his activities in Africa with the 22nd. I appreciate you trying to help by searching Ancestry.com. I really do not believe William and Mary Molineaux in Prittstown have a connection to Charlotte Molineaux Morris and I am trying a different direction. Her husband Charles Morris was born in the UK in 1874. I will take a look at the British Military Records to see if that turns up any family info about Molineaux's in the service. |
