There seems to be quite a lot of MH Bullet heads on EBay. Where in the UK can these's be found, is there an old Victorian fire range somewhere. Can't believe those being sold on eBay are all from the SA Battlefields.

Hi Chard
Yes there are some places in the uk where these Heads can be dug up , I seem to remember there was an ebay seller stating his were dug up along a bank of the Thames , or near the Thames , where there was an old rifle range . Neil will certainly know where all the old Rifle ranges were situated , obviously plenty of lead just waiting to be dug up , I dont think to many of the sellers state their items are from Battlefields in SA , some do or will , quite probably , they are or were . There was no need , or call for provenance with AZW items a few years ago , only recently paperwork has been , or is required , it depends who you deal with I suppose .

An old Victorian rifle range deep in the woods near Aldershot.

And long forgotten practice trenches.

MH Bullets are still common place. There are many enthusiasts still shooting the MH. My friends son-in-law regularly digs them up in a local park where the Home Guard used to train.
No doubt there are dozens of locations in Britain where the MH bullet can be found.

As a shooter myself may I point out that there is no such thing as a "bullet head". It is a bullet. The head is the base of the cartridge where the "headstamp is"
