18 Aug 1869 Assistant Surgeon 19th (1st Yorkshire North Riding) Regiment of Foot.

14 Feb 1872 Staff Surgeon.

Malta 12 Mar 1876 Arrived from England.

Malta 13 Sept 1877 To England on sick leave.

Malta 23 Mar 1878 Returned to Malta.

26 June 1878 To England on duty and on sick leave.

24 July 1878 Reduced to half-pay.

24 Apr 1879 Restored to full-pay.

1879 Served in South Africa during the Zulu war.

1 Jan 1881 Surgeon–Major.

16 Jan 1889 Granted retired pay with rank of Surgeo n̵ Lieutenant Colonel"
