| It sits on my desk as I write and it is impressive. At a quick calculation there are around 300 of JY's photos and illustrations all beautifully reproduced (which in itself is an archive of note), and what little I have read so far appears fresh, informative and well constructed. I very much like the approach of building the narrative around individuals and there is much I have not seen before. It is undoubtedly going to place itself in the top tier of AZW literature. Well done John (and David) and thank you.

| Steve,
Thanks for that, I have forwarded your comments on to David. I haven't seen the book myself as we only receive ours after the pre-orders have been fulfilled.
I have to say not all of the photographs are mine, and that one notable omission is the credit to Ron Sheeley for his photograph of Tottenham of the 91st. Hopefully that can be resolved should the book go to a second edition.
I would also like to thank members of the Durnford family for providing the previously unpublished photographs of AWD with the 75th, and that of his wife and only surviving child.
Victoria's Harvest is planned to be the first of five co-authored work between David and myself all on Victorian campaigns. One of which will have some further Zulu War content.

| It must be very demoralising when so much time and effort has gone into producing an interesting and informative book only to find it then sells for a pittance. I predict it will become one of those hard to find AZW volumes in a couple of years time and attract exorbitant prices on the second hand market. We all like a bargain (me included) but I do feel for the authors.

| Steve I have to agree, that you can buy that mass of research for the same price as a piece of junK of a WH Smith shelf is pretty sad. But I do believe your right, one day we will see the true worth. Incidently on the same site is Keith Smiths collection "Dead was everything" at a throw away price. |

| Just for everyone's information my last royalties statement was donated to the British Red Cross fund for the recent attacks in Manchester & London.
Whoever purchases the book from NMP my share of royalties is going to the British Red Cross fund for the Grenfell House fire. So at less some of your money will be helping people in crisis.
