Hi Admin

Many thanks for the evidence, that proves Hendley was real, but I have to call into question him taking part in the Zulu War. At this moment I am uable to find any evidence to prove that he took part. I cannot finf him listed under the 17th Lancers? I think more proof is needed for this one. If anyone comes across anything please let me know.

I have put this topic on the Boer war forum. To see if they can help. As Hendley was in the later part of the Boer War.

Hi Chelmsfordthescapegoat

That site you have posted is great, have you had a look at the section called people? there is a few photographs of Officers that took part in the Zulu War.

Thanks

1879Grave.
This information from QSAMike on our Boer war Site.

According to the Cavalry Medal Roll he is listed as follows......

Hyde, A., 3903, Farrier Sergeant, 2nd Dragoon Guards, Cape Colony, OFS, Transvaal, 1902. Alias 'A.C. Hendley'

QSA only no KSA....

Hi Admin

That is great, that proves he was in the 2nd Dragoon Guards as stated in the article. Now we need to find him listed in the 17th Lancers during the Zulu War. I have checked the roll of the 17th Lancers for both names and have come up blank!!!!

So most of the story is starting to look like it has some truth behind it, just need evidence on the Zulu War bit.
