1877-8-9 Medal Found Empty
PostSubject: 1877-8-9 Medal Found   1877-8-9 Medal Found EmptyMon Jan 02, 2017 3:03 am

Hi all, I am new to this forum. I found this place doing some reading online.  I recently found a medal going through some boxes, and I am wondering if any of you folks might have some information about Private J Boyde of 88th Foot (Connaught Rangers).

I found a mention of him, or this medal rather, in this book on page 56: A History of the Mess Plate of the 88th: The Connaught Rangers Hardcover – August 31, 2015
by Henry Francis Newdigate Jourdain.  If you do a google search for "pte j boyde 88th foot" the first link will take you to the page.

My wife's father was English, and he collected things like this.  I'm not sure if I want to sell it, just mainly looking for info/advice.

Thanks,

BR
