As if! Isn't it odd how familiar some of those faces seem to be - but just like group photos of more recent times, they all look the same in uniform. What I also find interesting is that these are the original Crimea period barrack huts in Aldershot.

Steve I slept in a couple just like that. In Hohne Belsen we slept in the old SS barracks, been in some interesting spots

Your first photograph is post-1878 at the earliest. The officers are wearing the star pattern Home Service helmet plate. The detail is blurred when I attempt to increase the image size, but the officer on the far right appears to have a Lieutenant’s star on his left shoulder which would put the image post-1881. Dark facings so either a Royal Regiment of the Line, or an Irish Regiment.
