Nice copy signed by G. Welby, 1/24th, Lt., Capt., Maj. who served in the 1890s Burma campaigns and was K.I.A. in World War I in 1914 (Atkinson)

Very nice gilding still Ron. We should start a list of regimentally owned copies - that's five so far I think.

Steve, Good idea! I imagine Welby purchased it around the time of publication. So you have four signed copies?

No, I have three. The fourth is Penn Symons special copy, which incidentally went for £2,000 at Spinks last Wednesday. I have also remembered a sixth which is in the Prince Consort's Library in Aldershot donated by Colonel Glennie.

Steve, Yes, and Penn Symons liked to sign his collection. I've got two signed published pieces with his signature. Interested in the Welby? PM
