Lord Chelmsford invaded Zululand without the knowledge of the British Government in the hope that he could Capture Cetshwayo, the Zulu King, before London discovered that hostilities had begun.

The Victoria cross recipients of zululand should read. A. BOOTH 80th regt . S. WASSALL 80TH regt.
E. BROWNE at KAMBULA. E. FOWLER 90TH REGT. H. LYSONS 90TH REGT.

Hi littlehand.
Dont know if he qualifies but Henry Cecil Dudgeon D'Arcy was born Wanganui N.Z but was of Irish Descent . His parents
both being Irish , his father Major Oliver Barker D'Arcy and his wife Angelica Martha . Major D'Arcy had served in two
famous Irish Regts the 18th and 27th , and was serving with the 65th on garrison duties after the 1845 - 47 Maori uprising .

He is also considered South African, though he probably considered himself British or Anglo-Irish.
