    Leadership of the NNC Empty
PostSubject: Leadership of the NNC   Leadership of the NNC EmptyThu Oct 03, 2019 8:55 pm

This is a link to an interesting thesis I found surfing the internet.

"The Commandants: The Leadership of the Natal Native Contingent in the Anglo-Zulu War" by Keith I Smith (2005).

    https://api.research-repository.uwa.edu.au/portalfiles/portal/3223118/Smith_Keith_I_2005.pdf

Some interesting background info and thoughts on the regimental and battalion COs of the NNC and the morale of the white and native troops as well as info on the composition of the native troops and their relative performance. I hadn't realised before that the 3/1st was such a small unit compared to the other battalions.

    Regards

    Phil
