Hello all,
I've been in touch with a member of the Tarboton family in KZN and he has very kindly sent me images of brothers Edwin & William Tarboton who both served at Isandlwana with the Natal Carbineers; Edwin was killed in action while William escaped.
I will ask Pete (Admin) to post on my behalf (and with Mr Tarboton's permission).
A photo of William's grave at Byrne, South Africa can be found at the following link:

Thanks Tim Looking forward to seeing the picture of them both. Is that another one for us to visit Gary once we can get back over there? Kate

Hi Kate I'm not sure where Byrne is .... if it's not to far away we can surely get there , make a note of it as I'm still away and will certainly forget . 90th

Kate,
Don’t trust Smoko, I asked to look at a grave whilst he has been languishing in Queensland, I even gave him transport options, did he? Did he heck as like!

Kate I thought I'd seen the Tarboton Grave , and if it's in the Richmond cemetery I have , it's the same cemetery where Barker is buried I went there with the Major . Will need to check my pics to make sure . JY Yes.... unfortunately your transportation options are still on strike ! . 90th

Hi Gary
Your all mix up mate Barker is buried in his fathers Church in Umzinto, and Tarboton is buried in Byrne which is a small village some distance maybe a 30 minute drive from Richmond you need to get back home and go through your photos mate they are hours apart by car.
