DEATH OF AN OLD CAMERONIAN. The death occurred this morning of Mr Walter Darling late Scottish Rifles, an inmate of the Scottish Naval and Military Veterans' residence, Whitford House, Edinburgh. Mr Darling  served in the Zulu War from 1877 to 1879 and was in possesion of the South African medal. He served 24 years in the army from 1858 to 1882. He will buried, with full military honours, in Easter Road Cemetery on Friday afternoon.

Edinburgh Evening News - Tuesday 14 September 1920

Duttons p311 Color Sergeant 616 Darling W. 1877-78-79 clasp. Duplicate medal and clasp issued 19/7/1927

Seems one of the medals came up for sale on e-by in 2012

There was a sergeant 1301 A. Darling 1877-78 clasp and a private 1520 G. Darling 1877-78 clasp also in the 90th. I wonder if they were related?
