More likely to be 58th with the mention of Hornby 58th Regt, there is a T Jackson 29/819 58th on the roll. John Jackson 1911 and 1921 census he is born Aston Juxta Cheshire 1856, address Crewe, married to Sarah Ellen.
Another John Jackson attested 25 feb 1878 age 21 born 1857 Liff, Dundee, Forfar to 61/1012, to 2/21 28 feb 1878, to South Africa 22 feb 1879, Natal 30 March 1879, in Ladysmith Hospital 15 Oct 1881, to UK 4 May 1888, discharged 24 feb 1890 12 yrs.
