Private 534 Ebeneezer Leonard Bown 80th Regiment who shot Mbelini

Quite a claim and he may have been in Captain Prior's patrol but having been to the area where Mbilini was killed I though it was an auxiliary who shot him?

No Military, E.L.Bown born abt 1854/55 Stockton Durham, 1901 census 54 Beechwood Rd, West Hartlepool, Ram Man Coke Ovens, M.to Eleanor 5 children. 1911 census 36 Park Terrace Ferryhill Durham M.to Eleanor 3 children, 1921 census Southampton M.to Eleanor, Dies 5 Sept 1933 buried Old Cemetery Southampton, he appears on the findagrave website.

Kate I also believe it was an Auxiliary who shot Mbilini . Seems Johann Filter was in that patrol as he was recognised after he was captured later on , this was why Filter was killed , although , others new Filter as the Pastor's son and thought he should be spared .
